Eastfield Medical Centre is open Monday - Friday, 8am until 6:30pm.

We operate an appointment system, with all routine appointments pre-bookable, and an open surgery every morning. The appointment slots are booked at 10 minute intervals. We also operate an open surgey daily to ensure that patients who feel that they need to see a GP but have not booked an appointment can do so.

Routine Surgery Times:
Monday 8:30am - 10:30am, 3:00pm - 5:40pm
Tuesday 8:30am - 10:30am, 2:30pm - 5:40pm
Wednesday 8:30am - 10:30am, 2:30pm - 5:40pm
Thursday 8:30am - 10:30am, 2:30pm - 5:40pm
Friday 8:30am - 10:30am, 3:00pm - 5:40pm

Open Surgery
If patients do not have an appointment but feel that they need to be seen, they are welcome to attend the surgery between 11:00am and 12:00noon, and sit and wait to see the first available GP. Patients will not be able to specify which GP they see during the open surgery.

Emergency Surgery
In addition to booked appointments during the above time slots and the open surgery, we also have an emergency surgery for those patients who are unable to obtain an appointment but feel that they have an emergency problem and need to be seen. Emergency appointment slots are booked at 5 minute intervals and are with the first available doctor, which may not be the doctor of your choice. Please be aware that you may be telephoned by the Duty GP to assess your need for an appointment on the day, especially as we have open surgery running daily.

Visits
There is a visiting doctor available, but we would like to remind patients that visits are assessed in terms of clinical need. You may be asked to attend the surgery where we have access to all of our equipment and staff if this is felt to be more appropriate by the assessing GP.

Extended Access Surgery Times:
Under the Governments Extended Access scheme, the surgery provides four hours of booked appointments outside of our core hours listed above. These are provided by two General Practitioners working concurrently for two hours. The surgeries are scheduled twice per week on a Monday and Friday morning from 07h30. These surgeries frequently have a nurse available, and should prove particularly useful to people who may wish to see a doctor or nurse before work. Unfortunately during these sessions we do not have access to results or the hospital secretaries. Therefore, on occasion patients may be asked to return to the surgery during core hours.
