From 1st October 2009 are appointment system will be changing to the following pattern:

ALL AFTERNOON APPOINTMENTS WILL NOW BE AVAILABLE TO PRE-BOOK.

These pre-bookable appointments should be available to pre-book up to 4 weeks in advance. For example, if the GP requests to review you in 3 weeks time, you should be able to make that appointment on your way out of the surgery.

Pre bookable appointments will also be available between 9.30 am and 10.30am on a Monday, 8.30am and 10.30am Tuesday to Thursday and 9.00am to 11.00am on a Friday

Whilst we endeavour to appoint you with the GP of your choice when pre-booking, you will appreciate that this is not always possible.

Please note that ‘Nurse’ appointments are all ‘Pre-Bookable’

OPEN SURGERY

We will now be running an ‘Open Surgery’ Monday to Friday from 11.00am til 12 noon. This will be offered to patients on a daily basis once all pre-bookable appointments are filled. PLEASE NOTE ‘Open Surgery’ is a ‘sit & wait’ service to see the first available Dr. It can be for either routine or urgent problems.

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHOOSE WHICH GP YOU SEE AND YOU SHOULD BE PREPARED TO WAIT.

We realise that patients do get frustrated when telephone lines are constantly engaged which is why we are introducing this system as it will hopefully avoid the deluge of early morning calls we currently receive. Please be assured that all our staff are answering calls as quickly and efficiently as possible and that your patience and courtesy are appreciated.

We are now using EMIS Access which will initially allow patients to request repeat prescriptions on-line. In the future we envisage that we will also be able to allow patients to book appointments on-line.

To take advantage of this service, please speak to a member of reception staff.

You will need to provide either:

A photograph driving license, or;
A passport

If you do not have either a driving license or passport please provide 2 from the following:

Bank/Building society statement
Mortgage statement dated in the last 3 months
Utility bill dated in the last 3 months
Rental agreement for your property

This is so that we are able to confirm your identity and avoid "identity theft".
